Lost Boy Hard Cover Book

Lost Boy Hard Cover Book

As a hippie and drug user who had grown-up in a dysfunctional family, Greg Laurie knew what it was to be lost. Greg discovered his passion for seeing people transformed into renewed beings with a saving faith in Christ. The Lord's influence in Greg's life has been thoroughly evidenced by the fruit seen from the ministries Greg has planted, watered and grown; namely, Harvest Christian Fellowship (one of America's largest churches) and the Harvest Crusades. Some notable reviews: Franklin Graham, “Lost Boy will touch your heart in a profound way.” Max Lucado, “I love Greg Laurie’s story so much. His own personal story is a stunning reminder of why our Savior came.”  A companion film, Lost Boy: The Documentary, has been shown in churches around the country in outreach events featuring Pastor Greg.

  1. I was so intrigued to learn what happened next in your saga... Review by TV

The last few days have had a lot of “I don’t know why, but I am…” moments. It first started with “I don’t know why I am reading this book (Lost Boy), but I am.” I couldn’t put it down; I was so intrigued to learn what happened next in your saga. That night as I lay in my rack, I didn’t know why, but I prayed. It wasn’t audible, but it was definitely filling my thoughts. I asked God and myself “Where am I, and what I am I doing with my life?” Even though I couldn’t hear an answer, I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. And then again this morning, I wasn’t sure why, but I prayed again. This time I was asking aloud, “God, please point me in the right direction”, and as silly as it was, saying His name out loud made it more real and confirmed that I was doing this; the proverbial pinching of the cheek. And then finally, here I am again, compelled to write you for some reason.

I am in my twenties, grew up in SoCal, and come from a fantastic family. Yet, with all of the great things that I have done and become, I knew something missing; a void and guilt that I could never rid. And over the last 24 hours, I realized I was and am missing God in my life. I might be writing more to me then to you; another indicator that this in fact is real. I just feel so ready, I know I am not there yet but I can’t help but feel excited. I want to do this for myself, my wife and her family (her dad sent me your book), as well as my family. But I guess, and it’s odd to actually write it, but I want to do it for Him. I’ve blamed not going to church and really being a Christian on a lot of lame things, but looking back I was just scared and embarrassed. Well, I think I am warming up to this whole idea of drinking from the “Living Water”… Thank you!

  • Greg Laurie's story has offered much hope and direction for my prayers... Review by CG

I found your ministry in a round-about way -- that's when I found the book Lost Boy. This story has been a blessing to me and has offered much hope and direction for my prayers. It is so like the LORD to a troubled life, turn it completely around, and use it to encourage parents to stay in the battle against the enemy.

  • Blessed by the book Review by J

I would like to let you know how blessed I am to be reading your book Lost Boy again. My brother loaned it to me and I have truly enjoyed reading and being encouraged to continue praying for my daughters. They were raised in the church but have stopped serving the Lord they tell me they know He is there when they need him, I pray they would recommit their lives and serve him wholeheartedly and realize that He is always there, not only in the trying times but through everyday and moment of their lives.

Once again thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord.

  • Thank you for being a part of teaching me about God Review by PB

I have never heard about you until our family took a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. My husband's aunt invited us to go to church with her to hear you speak. Your story of the lost boy and how you found God really had me in tears. It was no coincidence that you were there exactly the same weekend that we took the drive all the way from Sherman, Texas to Albuquerqe, New Mexico. I read your book "Lost Boy" and finished it. Thank you for being a part of teaching me about God.

  • Previously, I spent my whole life staring at an apple tree without picking the apples and taking a bite... Review by NM

I am reading your autobiography and I’m almost finished—your story is almost identical to mine. Thank you for speaking the truth without watering it down, I need it, oh so badly.

Thank you so much for all you do. In February I rededicated my life to Christ. Previously, I spent my whole life staring at an apple tree without picking the apples and taking a bite. Since my rededication I feel the presence of God almost every night to such a degree that I almost come to tears.

  • Amazing Review by N. A.

Pastor Greg, your book, Lost Boy, was amazing; I read it in two days! It made me want to get up and do everything the correct way. Thank you so much for helping me realize that my only hero is my Lord Jesus Christ!

  • I pray that many young boys and men will read Lost Boy... Review by MG

Pastor Greg, It was through your radio show that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, and quickly found a good church home. I lost my son when he was 33 years old. He did not live long enough to know that I am saved too. I bought your great book Lost Boy. I pray that many, many young boys and men will purchase, or at least read, Lost Boy. Do not forget that God is faithful; our God is GOOD. (Posted on 2008-10-02 22:25:37)

  • It really touched me, I appreciate your candor... Review by MB

I just finished reading your book Lost Boy. It really touched me. I appreciate the candor with which you spoke of your past. Although I’ve listened to you for years, your transparency within the book and through the passing of your son has really modeled what it means to put on humility. Thank you for your openness, I’m sure it is bearing much fruit. I plan to get a copy of Lost Boy to my prodigal daughter in hope that God would get through to her by it. • Absolutely Riveting Review by Kirk

I’m in Christian radio in Indianapolis. I was in my office when Focus on the Family came on. It was the two-day broadcast of your testimony and it was absolutely riveting. I just had to see the webcast on Daystar TV in early July. Then I just had to order my own copy! I’m looking forward to presenting it to the youth Bible Fellowship class I teach at church. I believe it will really speak to them in a powerful way. Some come from very difficult backgrounds. I’d imagine it’s somewhat painful for you to revisit the past (especially in writing the book), so I really appreciate your transparency to achieve the purpose of God, using your story to speak to so many for His glory! The documentary inspired me to pick up my old copy of the book Harvest by Pastor Chuck Smith and Tal Brooke. I was riveted all over again! May God continue to bless your ministry, Greg, as you pastor and speak at Harvest Crusades. Warmly, in His grace,

There are so many “lost boys” in this world that need to know that they are not alone and that there is hope for them.

  • I believe the Lord is going to use Lost Boy to reach people in a very powerful, special way Review by Sean

We got this book in the mail a few days ago. I picked it up and began to read it right away. It is an absolute page-turner! It isn’t really about Greg Laurie. It’s about what the Lord has done for Greg Laurie.

Lost Boy will reach many, many people. It would make an excellent gift for anyone you know, especially if they don’t yet have a personal relationship with Jesus.

The book is written in a conversational and very readable tone. It’s so personal that it feels like Greg is telling the story to you as you’re sitting down together in your living room.

I believe the Lord is going to use Lost Boy to reach people in a very powerful, special way. All glory to the Lord! God bless, keep and continue to use you, Greg!

  • Pastor Greg's best book Review by B

Pastor Greg, this is the best book you’ve ever written. You put your heart and soul into it, and it really shows. My dad was an alcoholic who grew up in your generation (the Baby Boomers). Unfortunately, he never turned from his addictions to a relationship with Christ. I could relate to your experiences in many ways. I’ll be buying copies for many family members this Christmas. Thanks for all your hard work and for letting the Lord use you to impact so many lives for good… including mine!

  • I loved Lost Boy. Review by Melissa

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago intending to give it as a gift to my ex-husband, who I feel is a “lost boy” himself. I decided to read it myself first, and what a great decision that was! I am not a “reader” by any stretch of the imagination, so I was surprised to find myself looking forward to reading every night before bed in order to continue on Greg’s journey. I finished the book within a weeks time. I am planning to purchase more of Pastor Greg’s books. I loved Lost Boy.

  • Truly Epic! Review by Levi

Having had the pleasure of actually knowing Greg Laurie as a friend and mentor, I can say that Lost Boy truly allows you to see who he really is. It’s not just a diligent chronicling of his history so much as a rollercoaster ride that enables you to see and feel who he really is as his story races by. It’s kind of like a biography on Red Bull!

One thing’s for sure, this book will show you that the singular passion in Greg’s life is to know God and make Him known. In Lost Boy, Greg expresses his deep respect for Billy Graham and how highly he esteems him. Greg has been someone that I have looked up to in that way. As a pastor and as an evangelist and as a person, he is someone whose footsteps I want to follow, and I know I that I am not alone.

For the thousands who have been impacted by Greg’s ministry, Lost Boy will be an opportunity to see “behind the scenes” in his life and get to know the man behind the pulpit.
