This is an inductive lesson series based on the book of Nehemiah. This resource consists of ten lessons in a zipped pdf file. They can be used by an individual student as part of an independent study or by the group leader, providing helpful thoughts, illustrations and concepts which can be utilized in his preparation of the messages.
On day one, the student reads the week’s passage several times. On days two through four, over sequential verse blocks, the student practices:
- Observation (who, what, where, when, why and how)
- Interpretation (interpretation of the lesson and its meaning)
- Application (in question and answer form)
On day five, the student performs a word study and on day six, the student summarizes what they have learned utilizing secondary helps, including prayer requests.
The theme of this study is, "The Rebuilt Life.” Nehemiah is an example of one who lived a godly life despite the challenges and opposition that he faced. He was a man of prayer and can be used as an example and inspiration of what happens when one man prays.
